THE HANKEY HOUSE. Not only was there an architectural flowering in commercial and public buildings in boomtown Bowling Green, but residential splendor reached its apogee especially on West Wooster Street where the town’s affluent oil boom citizens settled. Around 1987 approximately 95 homes in this neighborhood were accepted for the National Register. Included was the c. 1890 Queen Anne-style home of businessman John Hankey at 408 West Wooster Street. THE HICKOX-MOORE HOUSE. This fine home with Georgian-Classical Revival styling was built around 1902 at 324 West Wooster Street by banker J. Hickox. It was later owned by F. Moore of the A. Froney Company. (Courtesy WCPL.)
